Dallas Burlesque Festival

The 2nd annual Dallas Burlesque Festival is this weekend at the historic Texas Theater! Last year's inaugural event was a sold out success so this year they added a second night! With over 50 dancers, live pin up shoots, a fashion show and lots of fabulous vendors, this will be Texas' largest burlesque event of the year. I will performing my newest routine choreographed by the amazing Eric Hall from the Lolliebombs. Also performing at the festival are Courtney Crave, Ruby Joule, Coco Lectric, Ginger Valentine, La Divina, Rose Darling, and many other Texas favorites as well as performers from as far away as New Orleans and even New Zealand! Miss Exotic World Angie Pontani will be headlining both nights. Did I mention it's at the Texas Theater where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested? Here are a few photos from the Crystal Palace burlesque event last weekend. Although I was backstage most of the time I did manage to sneak out long enough to see about half of the acts. Everyone really did a terrific job, and the casting was phenomenal. I wish I could have seen the whole show! Bravo ladies! And thanks to The Church and La Divina burlesque for including me in this show. Sharing the stage with the legendary Catherine D'Lish was a dream come true! I could post the crappy iPhone pics I got from backstage, but these pics from Ben Britt are so much better.

A few days ago I posted a link to an article about Rush Limbaugh being hospitalized with chest pains. My commentary on the matter was "Damn! So close! Would have made a great start to the new year." And it would have! Haha! The next day I received a message from The Latex Store, a company that I have supported for several years but never bothered to actually introduce myself to because I've never had any desire to work with them. The following is the correspondence, and as a result of their harassment and trollish behavior, I can say without a doubt that I will never shop The Latex Store, also known as Midnight Blue's Toys, again. I'll keep sending my money and support to those who deserve it, like Syren latex, Stockroom, Black Lickorish, Vex, or House Of Bias.

I do take seriously the idea that because of disagreements in political ideology one person would wish for and -be happy- at someones' untimely death, very serious and frankly disturbing. The fact beyond that is, you and I are in business, what we post here is seen by potential clients, and many of those potentials do not agree with our own personal political ideology. I do hire models, and frankly, because of your post I would never consider hiring you. I'm sure that doesn't matter one wit to you as we have never met nor have I shown an interest in hiring you, but if I'm offended by what you said, how many others might there be who are also.

My San Francisco trip began with a photo shoot at Uber-Ego Studios with Jody Cortes and Jinx1313. We got to pick out some really hot latex pieces from Madame S, so I was very happy! Our first shoot was on a massive black bondage bed with latex sheets. We slid around on the sheets as I pulled her long black ponytail and squeezed her lovely throat with my bare hands. Mmmmm…choking…..

I loved this top so much I wanted to buy it, but they let me have it! I forgot to buy the matching Capri pants while I was there, so I guess I’ll just have to get them online later.

I also shot a quick solo set in this super cute latex dress and steep red stiletto pumps that had all the boys clamoring for a better vantage point. Even the gay ones! lol

We made sure to save the best for last, and for this one I enlisted the help of Miss Nikki Nefarious. We were shooting in a bathroom the size of most people's bedrooms, complete with multiple shower heads and a suspension point in the extra tall ceiling. Nikki is a bad ass with ropes and shibari, so I was happy to let her do the heavy lifting for me! Jinx hung like a pro, until I got water in her eye. Oopsie!

The next day was Folsom Street Fair and I was really excited!! I love festivals and street fairs, so a block party packed with perverts and pan-sexuals was right up my alley! Mostly I was hoping to see some hot man-sex in the streets, I’m a total voyeur and love to watch, especially in public. Luckily I wasn’t disappointed, with beautiful boys blowing each other at every booth and dirty old wankers shamelessly pulling their pathetic little puds on every corner.

And of course the crowd was dressed to kill, from leathermen and women to drag queen divas and a latex chocolate bunny. Quite a few opted for their birthday suits. After the fair ended it was time to lace up my new red military corset by Stormy Leather and head over to DNA Lounge for vodka & Red Bulls at the Cat O’ Nine party. Domme Dietrich and her hubby brought their regular NYC party to San Francisco for the night, and I was a guest host along with the sumptuous Justine Joli, Kumi Monster, and Fetish Diva Midori. Several of my friends had shown up and as tired as I was, I ended up staying until closing. Needless to say, by the time I peeled out of my latex pants and crawled into bed, I was exhausted. After a day of rest and recovery, I was treated to a tour of the Kink.com Armory. It was pretty rad. The building is massive and old and originally built as an impenetrable Army fort, complete with stables for the horses, a river running underneath the basement, and a stadium for marching demonstrations and excercises. How cool is that? If those soldiers only knew what goes on in their barracks now… :p

After the tour we went for sushi before hitting the road back to LA. I was helping drive the Stockroom truck back, and it was a long and kidney-shaking trek. We had to pull over to sleep for a bit, so we didn’t get back to the store until about 3pm. Good thing my shot wasn’t till 5! Even better that Angela Ryan usually runs even later than me! Heh.

Angela finally arrived at the Stockroom with Christine Kessler around 6, and Christine got to work picking out places to shoot while Angela and I got busy picking out some sexy Syren latex and Stormy Leather corsets to wear. We each shot a few solo sets before lacing into our corsets.

Then I laced her into a gorgeous red leather armbinder for a bit, then switched to a black leather Bolero straitjacket and put her in a bondage swing. What else are friends for if not to tie up and molest? :D

It was 2 am when we finally wrapped, or unwrapped for the night. I hadn’t eaten anything substantial in several hours, so some fine late night cuisine at Pacific Dining Car seemed like a good idea. A few hours later the alarm would point out the error of my logic. I was so tired I couldn’t even try to get up and pack my bags and head to the airport. So I changed my flight to Saturday! I have so many photos to go through from this trip, I’m going to be editing for ages!!

I'm not quite sure where to begin. The last two weeks have been so busy and crazy and completely exhausting! In fact, it was so exhausting that I couldn't even try to get up and pack my things and go to the airport this morning. So I changed my flight to Saturday. ;)

I managed to squeeze in a last minute shoot with the lovely Alejandra Guerrera but then had to reschedule it for the next night so that I could see someone who was in desperate need of discipline. I'm really glad that I was able to rearrange things, because it ended up being a really good session. I also got to ride him around like a pony! :) Then it was a mad dash to the Stockroom for my rescheduled shoot with Alejandra. I had forgotten that I was supposed to go out that night, so as soon as we were done shooting it was off to Club Hell for cocktails and kink. The club was packed but luckily Gwen Media had a private booth so I was able to sit comfortably and rest my aching feet with Dominatrix extraordinairre Isabella Sinclaire. I also had the perfect spot to watch the action on the whipping floor. Latex can be exhausting.

I spent my afternoon at the Gwen Media studio in downtown LA, and it was amazing! I am truly envious of some of the custom bondage furniture that has been acquired since my last visits, and when you see the photos you will understand why! Our first shoot of the day involved a floating padded leather X-bench vertically suspended from a massive steel frame. My super cute slave for the day Miss Karrlie Dawn compared the feeling of being bound on it to being on a boat. Erotica Ball recap / slave Labor Day

I just added 92 pictures from the Erotica Ball last weekend at Kinki Lounge to the members section of both of my sites, but wanted to share a few. I had a really good time even though I'm generally not a fan of dance clubs. Goodbye old friend

On Sunday June 29 at approximately 5pm, I said goodbye to my best friend. It was by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do, even if it was the 'right thing to do'. My heart is broken, my boy is gone. He was happy until the end, even stopping twice to make new friends on the way in to the vet. I held him in my arms as we said goodbye.

Goodbye old friend, I hope you are at peace now.

Chili update

I'm really quite surprised (pleasantly so) that after two weeks, there has not been a serious and noticeable decline in Chili's health or attitude. There have been what seemed to be a few setbacks here and there, but any time one area of his behavior seems to deteriorate, another improves. We've been back to the vet twice since the sonogram just to check in and get a professional and non-biased assessment of his current comfort level and well-being, and he seems to be doing as well as a dog in his condition can. I can usually get him to eat two small cans of his prescription food a day, plus some pieces of chicken and beef, some dried chicken breast treats, and a Greenie. That's significantly more than he's been eating for the last few weeks so I am happy. He'll only eat from my hand, and there is some coaxing involved at times, but I'm just happy to see him eating more. Although the liver-intense canned food is quite disgusting to touch and smell, I much prefer him licking it out of my palm to squirting it down his throat with a large syringe. He does too. He also prefers his meat fresh, not refrigerated and reheated. Such a picky little Princess he is. Just like his Mama... ;)

I'm doing quite a bit better as well. Although we are still on a daily basis and I feel like we're stuck in limbo, we have kind of settled in to a groove that is working fairly well right now. He goes with me everywhere these days, just like he did years ago when he was my only dog. His brother feels a bit neglected when he gets left behind, but I figure he will have plenty of special attention once Chili is gone, and he needs to get used to being alone now before his hetero life-mate is gone for good. I started seeing clients again last week and am very happy to be working again after taking a brief hiatus to deal with this situation. The first round of vet bills pretty much wiped out everything I had saved up since moving back from Canada in February in a matter of days. Yikes. So being able to get back to work and start rebuilding my finances has been a big relief. Not to mention my job is incredibly therapeutic! I spent 12 hours at the dungeon on Monday, about half of that was in session. The Mistress whose dungeon I session out of is an animal lover and knows my boys from when she sessioned out of my dungeon, so they get to go with me. That makes things so much easier on me, as I can work for hours and still keep an eye on Chili and not feel like I'm sacrificing too much of the time we have left.

The best thing to happen so far came on Sunday. While we were at the vet I asked about switching his pain medication from Tramadol to Rymadil, which is what my other dog is taking for arthritis. Where the Tramadol didn't seem to affect him much more than making him a little out of it at times, the Rymadil seems to be making him feel pretty good. He'll actually come in to the kitchen now when he hears me feeding Simon or opening a bag of their treats. That's the first interest he's shown in food in several weeks so I am extremely happy. He can only eat small amounts in one sitting, but he's actually showing interest in food again! His energy level is also significantly higher, which is really good. He's not exactly his old self, but he is noticeably more active and doesn't spend all of his time lying around. He's even barking at other dogs again when we're driving around. He still has difficulty breathing, especially if he lays on his side, but there is not enough fluid built up to warrant draining him again and he seems to be getting by pretty good, all things considered. (As I'm typing this he is gnawing away on one of their hard bones, which he hasn't touched in a while.) The difference the new pain medication is making is just astounding, and makes me feel so much better because I can tell that he is feeling better. It's more expensive, but well worth it for the peace of mind. I don't want him to suffer, but I don't want him to spend his last days in an over-medicated daze and it seemed that was what the Tramadol was doing. I want him to enjoy his last days as much as possible, to live like a king and be happy until the end. That seems much more possible now.

I'm still not ready to lose him, but I'm trying to prepare. And just cherish the time that I have left with my beautiful boy.

My dog is dying and my heart is breaking

My dog has cancer. It took $1343 and 5 days of sitting in various vets' offices to find out what's wrong with him and that there is nothing I can do for him. That's not counting the $250 I spent on our first visit last month. I was given a weeks worth of pain medication for him that I can refill anytime, so all I can do now is try to keep him comfortable and happy in the short time he has left. He hasn't been eating much for a while and previous trips to the vet were "inconclusive". Then on Thursday night I noticed he was breathing shallow and quick, like someone who has asthma. I spent all day Friday and Saturday morning trying to get him in to a vet with no luck. By sheer luck I stumbled upon an amazing and caring vet on Saturday evening just before closing and they saw us for xrays and bloodwork right away. (Banfield Vets located in some PetSmarts are awesome!!) The xrays showed some fluid built up outside of one of his lungs that was preventing him from inhaling completely. They drained 90cc (approximately 3oz) and sent it off for testing. We returned for a follow up on Monday and I had them drain his lung again and this time they drained 330cc. We got the test results yesterday and went for a sonogram and consultation with a specialist today. There is only one mass but because of the size and location it is not likely that Chili would survive the surgery. Even if he did, the surgery would be extremely hard on him and because the fluid contains cancer cells, it is essentially seeding his lungs and the cancer will most likely reappear pretty quickly. So I don't really have many options. I'm trying to put together a farewell party ASAP as he could last a week or two, maybe a month or two. I don't want to wait until he is hurting and too sick to enjoy his party, and I know there are alot of people who will want to say goodbye to the best dog that ever lived. My heart is breaking, I am so not prepared for this.

So much for the universe smiling on me...
